Joel Luke – Life with Faith

Remember…

I don’t know what’s coming.
I don’t even know what I’m hoping for.
I just know something in me has shifted.
And I can’t go back to how things were.

This year I stripped things down. I exposed what was fragile, asked questions it never answered.

Christmas doesn’t fix anything.
It just shows up.

Like God who steps into the dark without explaining.
A light that doesn’t shout, it waits.

Charlie Mackesy writes,
“I can’t see a way through,” said the Boy.
“Can you see your next step?”
asked the Horse.
“Yes.”
“Then take that.”

“What if I’m afraid
of the next step?” said the boy

“Breathe,” said the Horse.
“That can be your next step.”

So maybe that’s where I end this year.
Not with clarity.
Not with certainty.
Not even with peace.
Just with the quiet, uncomfortable truth:
Still trusting.
Still here.

Maybe the next chapter doesn’t begin with answers. It begins with the courage to stay in the story long enough to see them.

Because,
“one day, you’ll look back and realise how hard it was, and just how well you did.”

And finally,
“When you think of everyone you love…”
said the Fox,
“I hope you include yourself.”

Merry Christmas.
From my family to yours.
